Hey!
My name is Caitlin and I’m a 20-year-old magazine journalism, international relations and Spanish major at Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y.
I’ve dreamed of going to Europe since I was seven, but I never had the opportunity until this year. Now, I’m spending five months practicing my Spanish in the beautiful city of Madrid, where I live with my roommate Meredith and our host mother Luisa (I’ve also taken trips to Croatia and Morocco — you can read more about those here.)
When I’m not blogging or studying for my grueling Spanish film class, I’m usually consuming huge quantities of café con leche or strolling the barrios with my camera. My travel philosophy is simple: try everything once, even if it scares you, and never stop exploring.
Apart from this blog, I also write about Spain for the Newshouse’s Passports blog and about music for eMusic, Hipersónica and 20 Watts, where I’m editor-at-large.
If you’re planning to visit Spain, or if you just want to say hi, please drop me a line! My e-mail is caitlin.dewey [at] gmail [dot] com.
